I had the awesome privilege of conducting my first marriage service this past weekend. Natalie (my sister) and Craig exchanged vows amongst family and friends in the Drakensberg on Saturday.

They had asked me some time back to take the service and I was pretty honoured to do so. I’m not a marriage officer, but jumped at the opportunity to be involved in such a deep and spiritual moment.

I have witnessed so many weddings, and realised as I was preparing for the service that I had taken note of my favourite ministers who had officiated at some of the best weddings.

People like Barry Marshall, Trevor Hudson and Schalk Pienaar all had some sort of influence over the way I facilitated the service on Saturday. From the preparation of the vows with Nats and Craig; to the flow of the service; and all the way to the way I prepared and delivered my message, I’m grateful for the ways in which I’ve been lead by some significant people.

Natalie and Craig, it was an honour sharing the moment with you. I wish you a fruitful marriage and a lot of fun 😉
